Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They help websites function properly and remember basic preferences during your visit. Similar technologies include local storage and pixel tags.
2. How We Use Cookies
TropiStrand is a mostly static website. We do not set first-party advertising, analytics or marketing cookies. Our own pages do not require cookies for basic browsing. Cookies and similar technologies may be set only by third-party services embedded on specific pages (see sections 3 and 4).
3. Types of Cookies We Use
Strictly Necessary Cookies
These cookies are required for basic website operation, such as page navigation and security. Because they are essential, they cannot be switched off through our site.
Third-Party Service Cookies
Some pages load third-party services that may set their own cookies when you interact with them:
- Google Maps — embedded on our Contact page to display our location
- Formspree — processes inquiry form submissions on our Contact page
- unpkg CDN — delivers the Leaflet map library when you load our homepage coverage map
These providers control their own cookies and local storage. We encourage you to review their privacy policies (listed in section 4).
Analytics and Marketing Cookies
We do not currently use analytics tools (such as Google Analytics) or marketing/retargeting cookies. If we enable such tools in the future, we will update this policy before they are activated.

Third-party services that may affect cookies, local storage or similar data on our site include:

- unpkg CDN — hosts Leaflet JavaScript and CSS loaded on our homepage. npm Privacy Policy (unpkg is operated by npm and delivered via Cloudflare CDN)
- OpenStreetMap / Leaflet — interactive coverage map on our homepage (map tiles load when you visit that section). OpenStreetMap privacy policy
We do not control how these providers collect or use data. If you are in the EEA, UK or another region with cookie consent requirements, you may wish to adjust browser settings or avoid embedded maps and forms until you are comfortable with the relevant provider policies.
5. Managing Your Cookie Preferences
You can control cookies in several ways:
- Browser settings: most browsers let you block or delete cookies. See your browser's help section for instructions.
- Opt-out tools: if we add analytics in the future, relevant providers may offer opt-out browser add-ons.
- Do Not Track: we currently do not respond to Do Not Track signals, but you may still limit cookies via browser settings.
Please note that disabling essential cookies may affect website functionality, including form submission.
6. Cookie Retention
Session cookies expire when you close your browser. Persistent cookies remain on your device for a set period or until you delete them. Retention periods vary by cookie type and provider.
